Curio is an award winning higher education consultancy based in Melbourne City.

We are currently on the lookout for a passionate and driven Junior-Mid Designer or Microsoft template expert to assist our growing team on a freelance basis. You will be responsible for creating engaging client-facing templates and documentation for a number of ventures within the Curio Group.

Curio embraces a flexible workforce model, so it is not imperative for you to be based in Melbourne.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 1-2 day per week availability;
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in generating Microsoft Word and Powerpoint business templates;
  • Experience with design software (InVision) and graphics editing tools (Adobe creative suite, Sketch)
  • Thorough understanding of design principles;
  • A basic understanding of UX principles;
  • Ability to embrace feedback and work comfortably in a fast-paced environment;
  • Capacity to work across a range of brands;
  • Well developed communication, time management, and organisation skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Keen interest in higher education and learning transformation.

Essential skills:

  • 1-3 years experience in a similar role;
  • Experience working with Microsoft business templates;
  • Diploma or Degree in graphic design or similar;

Course Description

This course examines the contributions of human factors in work, task design and health and safety.

Topics include human physiological processes, examination of work postures, human information processing and person-machine-environment interactions.

The course aims to provide you with a basic understanding of the principles underlying the place of people in work systems and their abilities and limitations, so that tasks and work generally may be designed for effectiveness, efficiency and health and safety.

Specific issues include anthropometry, biomechanics and the musculoskeletal system; and factors covering shiftwork and fatigue, controls and displays, lighting, noise and thermal comfort. The course will also explore the systematic incorporation of these factors into job and workplace design to minimise adverse health and safety outcomes.

Learning Outcomes

  1. You will demonstrate an advanced and integrated understanding of the OHS Body of Knowledge allowing you to reflect critically on OHS theory and professional practice.

You will also examine strategies for OHS professionals to manage legal obligations, and to interface on legal issues with all relevant stakeholders.
